3. getting a show
SO CLOSE JUST APPLY!
August 21, 2008
don't worry, we are getting ready for the fall and figuring out a way to fix the application.
it is our no. 1 priority, and as always, if you have questions about the fall semester applications & programming, email our program director emily at wxbcprogram [at] bard [dot] edu.
the application will be up soon and we will be accepting applications for at least two weeks after it becomes available. if you have skills with php and website things, and want to help us with the application, which we need help forwarding to the programming email account, and which needs to be updated, please send general manager erica an email at wxbcgeneral [at] bard [dot] edu. if you fix it we will probably give you whatever radio slot you want. we really need a savvy person to help us pleeease! love, wxbc

omg omg omg but it's juuunneee. we are trying to get ready a little cause we are doing important things which will occupy the rest of our attention this summer & when school comes around, we want to be able to immediately get our wxbc-mode full-on. you know how we do.
this is the tentative schedule if you were wondering but it might change. email wxbcprogram [at] bard [dot] edu if you really need the inside scoop.
also submissions for our first-ever program guide will probably be due around the 22nd if you get a show. FYI cos we know you want to know.

wxbc is going on break for the summer. don't be sad, though, we're going to be having three shows still broadcasting. we'll be back in the fall, feistier than ever and with some exciting new developments. (we will be moving to a new location next spring, so we'll be getting ready for that in the fall, we are going to set up online playlists, and we're going to make our first-ever program guide). 4w3$0m3!
March 31, 2008
Hey lovely listeners, WXBC is taking a short break from March 29th to April 6th. We won't be adhering to our regular schedule during this time. Some DJs might be doing shows anyway and during the rest of our usual broadcast hours we'll be spinning all sorts of randomized goodness. We do this because we care. Of course, we'll miss all of you terribly and are eager to get back to the station so tune back in on April 7th when we return to our regular schedule of programs.

Podcasting feeds are still in the works for this project and for (a few of) the regular radio shows but you can find the notes from SLC meeting here!
Learn what the Student Life committee is doing and what the student body is in for in the next few months.
This is stuff you should and could know but would normally only find out if you attended their Tuesday 8:30pm meetings (which ARE in fact open to the public- in the campus center fishbowl).
We’re going to turn this into a weekly podcast with an rss feed asap but for this week’s I’ll just post the link to the file.

There is a medium-sized mammal native to Africa on the loose in Annandale-on-Hudson. It is believed to be living in the Manor basement and early settlers from Europe thought it resembled a pig. This animal is nocturnal and plays music from 4am-6am. If you can't hear it, you probably just can't hear at that frequency.
This animal is between 40 and 65 kg and usually between 1 and 1.3 metres but can reach 2.2 metres (!) when its tail is taken into account. It is pale yellowish gray in color and often stained reddish-brown by soil. Its coat is thin and the animal's primary protection is its tough skin. It has been known to sleep in a recently excavated ant nest, which also serves as protection (no food allowed in the booth).
We have been thinking of immortalizing our guest on a t-shirt. We will we be sponsoring a WXBC animal mascot t-shirt contest this spring. Feel free to spend your entire January break getting a head start on your entry.
In other news, you should apply for a show by February 1st, 2008. Click on the "application" link in the left-hand column. We will be off-air from Dec. 17th until February 9th, because we have a freakishly long intersession.
Love,
the wxbc staff
(also, information about this animal has been partially copied from wikipedia and the origin of this picture can be found in its properties)

It should include "WXBC" or "wxbc.bard.edu" on the tattoo and be fairly simple in terms of color. It should also be really excellent. Winner of the contest gets a prize (actual prize is not yet selected but will equal the excellence of your submission). Deadline is September 18th.
Campus mail your submissions to WXBC or Erica Cohen-Taub or email them to wxbcmusicjr@gmail.com
